ABOUT LOMI LIFE
Returning to the Wisdom of the Body
Lomi Life began with a simple realization: the body holds far more than physical tension.
Over a decade ago, I encountered Polynesian lomi lomi and felt something shift in the way I understood bodywork. It wasn’t simply about muscles or technique. It was about listening, to the body, the nervous system, the breath, and the deeper rhythms beneath them.
Lomi lomi carries a heart-centred philosophy that honours the body, mind and emotional landscape as inseparable. When the body is met with presence and care, something begins to soften. Breathing deepens. The nervous system settles. And people often reconnect with parts of themselves that daily life has pulled them away from.

That experience shaped the vision for Lomi Life.
At the time, much of the bodywork world seemed divided between clinical massage and relaxation treatments. One focused on muscular correction. The other is temporary comfort. Very few approaches worked with the whole system, body, nervous system, emotion and energy together.
Lomi Life was created to sit in that middle space.
The work blends therapeutic precision with a more intuitive, heart-led approach to bodywork. Sessions often become a quiet process of regulating, releasing and returning, helping the body move out of tension and back toward its natural state of balance.
Over time, the practice expanded beyond lomi lomi to include remedial massage and breathwork. Traditional bodywork now sits alongside modern somatic approaches, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional release and deeper restoration.
The work continues to evolve, but the intention remains steady: to create a space where people feel safe enough to soften, reconnect, and remember the quiet intelligence already present within their own body.
The Practitioner
Lomi Life is led by Michael Oshen (Oshi), practicing since 2014 with training across Hawaiian lomi lomi, remedial massage, reflexology, trauma-informed bodywork and breathwork.
Sessions unfold as a co-created experience, guided by the body’s responses and shaped through attentive presence.
Outside the studio, meditation, nature, embodiment practices and movement continue to inform the grounded approach brought into each session.

The Intention Behind the Work
At its heart, Lomi Life creates spaces where the body can speak and the heart can listen.
Through bodywork, breath and attentive presence, people reconnect with a deeper wellspring within themselves, a source of grounding, clarity and vitality.
From this place, many clients leave feeling softer, steadier and more connected to themselves, carrying that quiet sense of balance back into daily life.
